A fire razed an empty land that planted with mangrove and shrub on Pari Island, Seribu Islands today, Tuesday (11/8), at around 11 AM. Allegedly, it was due to cigarette butts thrown by residents to the location.
The flames have burned 500 square meters of the land
"We send one unit of rescue boat from Karya Island Fire Handling Post to the scene. The flames have burned 500 square meters of the land," said Edy Rudiyanto, Head of Seribu Islands Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept, Tuesday (11/8).
He explains, previously, local people had tried to put out the flames and managed to control it at around 11.59 AM.
